New Optimism Art?

It is interesting, once you start talking about and acting on optimism you start to see it all around you. Personally I consider myself a realistic or cautious optimist. Optimism does not come naturally to me but if my lifetime so far has taught me one thing it is that no one knows what wonderful things today can bring. Doors close sometimes by choice and sometimes not by choice but there is always something new and exciting waiting if you are open to possibilities.

Four months ago I was working at a job that I loved with a wonderful group of people and in a very few minutes that door was closed due to a cost cutting layoff by the company. It was not my choice but now I am working real hard at being open to other possibilities in my life. I can (and I have) sit and feel sorry for myself; I can build up resentment and hurt for what was done to me (no real point to that, it just makes me miserable); or I can move on, be grateful for what I do have, and work to be the best me I can be.

I watched the Micheal J. Fox special last night,”Adventures of an Incurable Optimist.” and  if he can be optimistic dealing with what he deals with day in and day out, who am I not to be optimistic!

I do not have any new “Optimism Art” today but I am planning to work on a new piece. I just need some help in deciding what the next piece will be.

Help me!

Pick the quote below or supply a new optimism quote you would like to see in my next piece of optimism art.

Quote#1:

“Optimist: A man who gets treed by a lion but enjoys the scenery.” ~ Walter Winchell

Quote#2:

“Most of the shadows of this life are caused by standing in one’s own sunshine.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Quote#3:

“No pessimest ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit.”

Please leave me a comment and let me know which one I should use and you could also let me know what colors you would like to see in the artwork.

I can’t wait for the feedback!

Thank you so much for your help ahead of time.

Optimism Art: 3rd Installment

This is the 3rd installment of my Optimism Art. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy creating it.

I find creating it helps me be more optimistic and I’m hoping the quotes I have chosen and the artistic presentation of these quotes helps you be more optimistic about your place in the world and the world around you also.

The three pieces of optimism art presented here are actually the first three pieces I did.

Here is another quote to ponder:

More Optimism Art

It’s a beautiful day here today. It would be such a shame to ruin such a beautiful day (or any day for that matter) with fear and pessimism.

To help everyone with their hope and optimism for today and the future here are more pieces of my new optimism art.

Let me know what you think.

Optimism Art

I am so excited about my new blog.

I have been working on a new series of mixed media artwork for a few weeks now. With our current economic situation I needed a little hope and optimism and that is just what my new series of artwork is. Each piece is on a small 8″x10″ canvas board and is made up of acrylic paint, glass beads, wire and paper. Each piece also includes a hopeful/optimistic quote. Images of several of these pieces are included below.

Let me know what you think of them and if you have a good quote from public domain that would make a good addition to my series.

*All images are copywrited and reproduction is prohibited.
